Constance hails from a long and powerful line of witches, charged with the care of monsters, spirits, and other sundry entities. And it’s been fine, as far as jobs go, but when her 50th birthday looms on the horizon, Constance questions the choices that brought her to this point in her life.

So, Constance does what any confident, stylish witch would do: she throws a cocktail party. And she invites some friends with connections—the angel Lucifer, the Babylonian goddess Ishtar, and the Aztec god Quetzalcoatl—to play a bizarre parlor game throughout the night while sipping drinks and nibbling hors d’oeuvres. But before the sun rises, alliances shift, threats are made, a danger rears its head, and Constance learns how complicated a mid-life crisis can be.

Cards & Bones is a quirky, dark comedy, alternately funny and terrifying, but always odd.
